1. يَوْمَ أَتانا بَرْدُه في بُرْدَةٍ

    أَضْحَى بِها مِثْلَ الحَديدِ الماءُ

    A day came to us, bearing its cold within its cloak;

    through it, the water became like a garden.

  2. والأَرْضُ قَدْ بُسِطَتْ لِحُسْنِ صَنيعِه

    بِالثَّلْجِ في الأَرْضِ اليَدُ البَيْضاءُ

    And Earth, through the beauty of that workmanship, spread

    across the land a white hand of snow.

  3. فاحْضُر فَنحْنُ كما تُحِبّ بِمَجْلسٍ

    لَوْ لَمْ تَغِبْ تَمتْ بِهِ السّرّاءُ

    So come: we are, just as you love, in a gathering

    whose gladness, were you not absent, would be complete.
