المُغْرَمُ مَنْ ذِكْراكُم يُقْلِقُهْ

وَالعانيَ مَنْ أَشْواقُكُمْ تَحْرِقُهْ

The lovelorn is restless when remembering you

The passionate burns with longing for you

وَالمُدنَفُ مَنْ مَدْمَعهُ يَغْرِقُهْ

وَالعَاشِقُ فِيكَ بَلّة تَخْنُقُهْ

The tearful drowns in his own weeping

And the lover is strangled by his affliction for you
