كَلِفْتُ بِحُبِّ مُسْتَوْفي

فَهَلْ مِنْ آخذٍ بِيَدِي

I was charged with loving one who is unattainable

Is there anyone to take my hand

إِذَا اسْتُدعي عَلى تَلَفِي

تَجهيه عَلَى كَبدِي كذا

When called to my doom

To conduct it to my liver thus
