1. قُولُوا لِزَجَّاجِكُمْ ذَا الَّذِي

    لَهُ مُحيَّا بِالسَّنَا مُسْفِرُ

    Tell your glassblower, he whose tinted

    cheeks are rosy with good health,

  2. إنْ كُنْتَ في الصَّنْعَةِ ذَا خِبْرَةٍ

    وَكَانَ مَعْرُوفُكَ لا يُنْكَرُ

    If you are skilled in your craft

    and your good name is widely known,

  3. فَمَا لأَحْداقِكَ أَقْدَاحُها

    في صِحَّةٍ مِنْ حُسْنِها تُكسَرُ

    Why do the wine glasses you fashion

    though fair, get broken easily?
