I stay up while my Lord is resting,

My heart is tortured by sorrows and thoughts,

While my home is watered with my tears,

His home is never watered except by rain.

Oh people, my passion for the full moon-faced one

Has healed me, with his tender, delicate branch.

He is a gazelle in human form, if not for the magic of his glances,

I would not spend my nights besotted, except by a sorcerer.

In his eyebrows, eyes and speech,

There are traces of aloe wood, arrows and lute strings.

He is the meadow of beauty and the horizon of charm,

He combines the branch and the moon.
