Strange that your eyes delight in blood

For the eternal reign that knows no good

And if the critics' voices rise anew

Against your rule, who then will intercede?

The critics chide your love through ignorance

Curse them! None should your ideal image dismiss

On them the burden lies to strongly chastise

While for the lover only love exists

O moon-like beauty, steadfast is my devotion

Never to fade or transmute this emotion

All turn to your beauty, marvel and admire

Then turn away, though they praise and admire

Their talk of your beauty and graces abound

Their talk of your sweetness flows unbound
