أَضْرِمْ لِمَنْ رَامَ وَصْلاً مِنْكَ أَو خَطَبا
ناراً جَعلْتَ لَها أَحْشَاءَهُ حَطَبَا
Kindle a fire for one who sought your love or asked for you
You made his heart the fuel and tinder for that fire
وَأْمُرْ غُصُونَ النَّقا أَنْ تَنْثني خَجَلاً
وَقُل لِشَمْسِ الضُّحَى أَنْ تَبْتَغي حُجُبَا
Bid the boughs of slender willows bow down shyly
And tell the radiant dawn to seek out veils
وَاطْلُبْ مِنَ الحُسْنِ شُكْراناً فَوجْهُكَ قَدْ
أَعْطاهُ مِنْ بَعْضِهِ كُلَّ الَّذي طَلَبَا
Ask your beauty to thank you, for your face
Gave it some of the all it desired
