نُطالِبُ بِشراً بِسُقيا المُدا

مِ وَبِشرٌ يُطالِبُنا بِالثَمَن

We demand drink's price, and people demand payment

Is it your habit in selling it, or is stinginess your way?

أَمِن عادَةٍ لَكَ في بَيعِها

أَمِ البُخلُ مِنكَ طَريقٌ قَمَن

If you sell it to us, then turn us away

From low pricing and cheating in selling it

فَإِن بِعتِناها فَنَكِّب بِنا

عَنِ البَخسِ في بَيعِها وَالغَبَن

And give us the full measure so we can

Return your bad selling with good

وَأَوفِ لَنا الكَيلَ حَتّى نَعُد

دُ قَبيحَكَ في بَيعِناها حَسَن

My excuse from a merchant hoarding

His goods in a pot and box

عَذيرِيَ مِن تاجِرٍ خازِنٍ

بَضائِعَهُ في أَصيصٍ وَدَن

And some of them in their choices

Love baseness like loving homeland

وَبَعضُهُمُ في اِختِياراتِهِ

يُحِبُّ الدَناءَةَ حُبَّ الوَطَن
