نَعتَدُّ أَنحُسَنا بِعِزِّكَ أَسعُدا

وَنُسَرُّ فيكَ بِما يُساءُ لَهُ العِدى

We pride ourselves on being fortunate through your honor

And rejoice in you however much hostility assails you

فَاِسلَم أَبا نوحٍ فَإِنَّكَ إِنَّما

تَهوى السَلامَةَ كَي تَجودَ وَتُحمَدا

So make peace, Abu Nuh, for you only

Yearn for safety so you may be generous and praised

وَهَنَتكَ عافِيَةِ الأَميرِ فَإِنَّهُ

قَد راحَ مُجتَمِعَ العَزيمَةِ وَاغتَدى

And the health of the Emir gladdens you, for he

Has set out with united resolve and attacked

في نِعمَةٍ هِيَ لِلمَكارِمِ وَالعُلا

وَسَلامَةٍ هِيَ لِلسَماحَةِ وَالنَدى

In a blessing that is for nobility and exaltation

And safety that is for generosity and freshness

لَمّا تَشابَهَتِ الرِجالُ حَكَيتَهُ

مَجداً أَطَلَّ عَلى النُجومِ وَسُؤدُدا

When men resemble each other in story

A glory has risen over the stars and Saud

وَمَرِضتُما وَفقاً فَكانَ دُعاؤُنا

أَن تَشفَيا وَتَكونَ أَنفُسُنا الفِدا

And when both of you fell ill, our prayer

Was that you heal and our souls be the ransom

لَكَ عادَةٌ أَلّا تَزالَ شَريكَهُ

مِمّا عَناهُ مُرافِقاً أَو مُسعِدا

You have a habit never to cease taking him

As partner in what concerns him, accompanying or helping

تَتَجارَيانِ عَلى الصَفاءِ مَحَبَّةً

فَكَأَنَّما تَتَجارَيانِ إِلى مَدى

You both vie in purity of love

As though you vie forever

لَو يَستَطيعُ وَقاكَ عادِيَةَ الضَنى

أَو تَستَطيعُ وَقَيتَهُ صَرفَ الرَدى

If only your protection could ward off the hostility of deprivation

Or his protection could turn away adversity

وَالنَفسُ واحِدَةٌ وَإِن أَصبَحتُما

شَخصَينِ غارا بِالسَماحِ وَأَنجَدا

And the soul is one though you have become

Two persons, sheltering in generosity and help

روحٌ تُدَبِّرُ مِنكُما حَرَكاتُها

بَدَنَينِ ذا عَبداً وَهَذا سَيِّدا

A spirit that directs its motions from you both

Two bodies, this one a servant, that a master
