يَمُدُّ عُبَيدَ اللَهِ فينا سِتارَةً
قَليلاً عَلى سَمعِ الجَليسِ صَوابُها
Obaidullah extends in us a thin veil
Over the hearing of the companion - its rightness is little
نَهُمُّ بِإِشراعِ الحِجارَةِ نَحوَها
إِذا نَبَحَت لِلمُنتَشينَ كِلابُها
We rush with unleashing stones toward it
When its dogs bark at those walking about
