لا لِصَبرٍ هَجَرتُكُم عَلِمَ اللَ

هُ وَلَكِن لِشِدَّةِ الإِشفاقِ

No patience for your departure, God knows

But because of intense sympathy

رُبَّ سِرٍّ شَرَكتُ فيهِ ضَميري

وَطَواهُ اللِسانُ عِندَ التَلاقي

Many a secret my conscience has shared

And my tongue has concealed at the encounter
