  1. God is exalted, who recompenses every man—

    though mankind may disapprove—with what he loved.

  2. He fashioned commoners, and kings above them,

    and ordained among them slave and master.

  3. In the scribal art He favored the House of Wahb,

    and set Wahb foremost among them—for farting.

  4. He leaned toward the vizier, intending to speak,

    then let loose a fart as he bent down.

  5. Ah, what a fart! It landed in quite a place,

    and its story spread through East and West.
