كِلانا مُظهِرٌ لِلناسِ بُغضاً

كِلانا مُظهِرٌ لِلناسِ بُغضاً

وَكُلٌ عِندَ صاحِبِهِ مَكينُ

وَكُلٌ عِندَ صاحِبِهِ مَكينُ

Both of us makes a show of hatred before the people,

yet each holds a cherished place with the other.

وَأَسرارُ المَلاحِظِ لَيسَ تَخفى

وَأَسرارُ المَلاحِظِ لَيسَ تَخفى

وَقَد تُغري بِذي اللَحظِ الجُفونُ

وَقَد تُغري بِذي اللَحظِ الجُفونُ

The secrets carried in glances cannot remain concealed;

eyelids may betray the one who casts the glance.

وَكَيفَ يَفوتُ هَذا الناسَ شَيءٌ

وَكَيفَ يَفوتُ هَذا الناسَ شَيءٌ

وَما في القَلبِ تُظهِرُهُ العُيونُ

وَما في القَلبِ تُظهِرُهُ العُيونُ

And how could any of this escape people’s notice,

when the eyes reveal what lies within the heart?
