1. Yours in glory are the beginning and the end,

    and deeds whose smallest is great.

  2. O son of the Prophet's uncle, may the world always have

    abundant succor from your two palms.

  3. Whatever drought befalls, your hand is rain;

    or whatever darkness gathers, your face is light.

  4. Hearts loved you when they beheld you

    as a newborn, and breasts held you in awe.

  5. And al-Rashid took his byname from your name, through prior knowledge

    of you—as did your grandfather, al-Mansur.

  6. The Prophet upholds whatever you uphold,

    and approves the conduct that prevails.

  7. You gained his inheritance by a manifest right;

    every right besides it is falsehood and deceit.

  8. Thus yours are the sword, the turban, and the signet,

    and the mantle, the staff, and the throne.

  9. And you administer worldly affairs through religion,

    since affairs were entrusted to you.

  10. You seek guidance and judge by truth,

    and hope for a trade that never fails.

  11. Indeed, the day of Nowruz has returned to the custom

    that Ardashir had instituted.

  12. You restored it to its original state,

    though it had been wandering, turning in circles.

  13. And you began collecting the land tax that day, so the community

    has in that a noteworthy benefit.

  14. From them come praise and commendation, and from you

    justice among them and bounty received with thanks.

  15. And I see your palace, besides its beauty, uniquely endowed

    with an excellence no other palaces were granted.

  16. The air grew gentle there and held sole sway, and steadily flowed

    the water; seas streamed along its two banks.

  17. May good fortunes greet you there, and may fullness

    of blessing be yours among us, and joy endure.

  18. O supporter of generosity, and what a fine supporter!

    And champion of eminence, and what a fine champion!

  19. Live on for us as long as Radwa stands,

    and remain as long as Thabir remains among us.
