1. وَذي ثِقَةٍ تَبَدَّلَ حينَ أَثرى

    وَمِن شِيَمي مُراقَبَةُ الثِقاتِ

    One I trusted changed when fortune smiled

    And it is my way to watch over friends

  2. فَقُلتُ لَهُ عَتَبتَ بِغَيرِ جُرمٍ

    فِراراً مِن مَؤوناتِ العِداتِ

    I said, you blame me though I'm innocent

    To escape costs of reciprocated hate

  3. فَعُد لِمَوَدَّتي وَعَلَيَّ أَلّا

    أَبُثَّكَ حاجَةً حَتّى المَماتِ

    Return to friendship and I promise not

    To burden you with wants until death parts
