The cups make the gathering pleasant,

Why then are they withheld, or why withhold them?

The season is now favorable and joy abounds,

Like brocade are the robes of spring.

The lamps are lit as if

Their flames are taken from it.

Fruits with eloquent perfume as though

Uttering to you words of narcissus.

Their golden fingers ride to you

Yellow, blending with the gloom and gleaming.

Juveniles who preceded time with their planting

If before time was, aught planted.

Boon companions like the gloom's torches

Their right hands grasp their goblets.

Moons of night mounted beneath them

Bodies of houris inhabited by souls.
