عَمِلنا في المُقامِ كَما أَمَرتا

وَأَخَّرنا الرَحيلَ كَما أَشَرتا

We acted as you commanded

And postponed the departure as you indicated

عِداتٌ أَعقَبَت نَدَماً طَويلاً

وَما المَغرورُ إِلّا مَن غَرَرتا

Regrets followed for a long time

And none is deceived except he who is deceived
