O Abu Ja'far, every generous person
Is woven with your white morals,
And your soul, whenever misers' souls
Are ignited with stinginess, is frozen.
So how many rifts have you mended,
And how many firm bonds have you tied.
And I have a fresh, delicate, soft drink
Of pure wine mixed and filtered.
And better than the joy of the two beloveds
Is with them my hand’s poured cup.
