O prince, hardship has indeed touched us.
O Prince, adversity has struck us
And the hand of calamities has been stretched out toward us.
And the hand of trials reached out to us
And we have merchandise of little worth.
We have little wares left
Its suitors have grown few, so it has gone unsold with us.
Few want them, so they remain with us
O prince, give us full measure
O Prince, fulfill for us the measure
With whatever you wish, or give us alms.
Whether as you wish or as charity upon us
