O you who saw al-Damir strutting in
O you who saw the destroyer strutting
An ugly, dust-covered cap—
In a dusty, disfigured cone
He passed, and the people rose, some cursing,
People rose from the curser
And others saying, “May you be disfigured, you disgrace!”
Saying "You disfigured, shame on you"
And he appeared, lowering his gaze,
And he appeared breaking his gaze
As though he were a rooster with a peck wound.
As if he were a rooster with a peck
