I have known love, cherished and steadfast in affection,
I have tasted love, joined and ever-joined
And forsaken, repaid with something other than my due.
Though forsaken, my reward is none but my reward
So no life is like reunion after estrangement,
Thus no life's like the joining after estrangement
And nothing is sweeter than reproach.
And naught is sweeter than reproach
