I pass by the house of Ammar ibn Nasr,
and offer it greetings and tears.
And I am ashamed before its hills to be seen
alive there, while he has fallen dead.
And there I used to seek life, fresh and tender,
with tender affection, and seek out spring.
Then it would drench me in its cloud's outpouring,
and its crescents would lavish their rising upon me.
Would that, just as we all lived there together,
when his death came due, we had all died together.
