ما الذُلُّ إِلّا تَحَمُّلُ المِنَنِ

فَكُن عَزيزاً إِن شِئتَ أَو فَهُنِ

There is no humiliation except in bearing favors

So be proud if you wish, or be gentle.

إِذا أَقتَصَرنا عَلى اليَسيرِ فَما ال

عِلَّة في عَتبِنا عَلى الزَمَنِ

When we are content with little, no need

To blame the times for our distress.
