And a slender youth—when his cheeks donned
And he lightly sways to what his branches gained,
the robes of beauty, they were embroidered with his cheek-down.
His garments hemmed with blossoming pearls.
When I sought to prevail over his great coldness
When I prevailed over his great disdain,
with my heart, my heart was among his allies.
My heart stood by me against his whirls.
The beauties of his face were perfected, so it was as though
His face's beauty seemed complete, as though
the crescent had borrowed its light from his radiance.
The crescent gleamed with light from his curls.
And when my heart insists on forsaking him,
And when my heart insisted on his disdain,
Love says, 'There is no doing without him, so humor him.'
Passion said I must yield to his twirls.
