بَل زادَ في هَمّي وَأشجاني

Whoever Eid has gladdened, it has not gladdened me;

The holiday brought joy to others, but not to me

Rather, it added to my worry and my sorrows,

Rather it increased my worries and sorrows

لِأَنَّهُ ذَكَّرَني ما مَضى مِن

لِأَنَّهُ ذَكَّرَني ما مَضى مِن

عَهدِ أَحبابي وَإِخواني

عَهدِ أَحبابي وَإِخواني

For it reminded me of what has passed:

Because it reminded me of times past

The days of my loved ones and my brothers.

With my loved ones and friends
