1. لَمّا تَراءَت رايَةُ الرَبيعِ

    وَاِنهَزَمَت عَساكِرُ الصَقيعِ

    When the banner of spring appeared

    And the armies of winter were routed,

  2. فَالماءُ في مُضاعَفِ الدُروعِ

    وَالنورُ كَالأَسِنَّةِ الشُروعِ

    Water poured from the joints of armor

    And light gleamed like bared swords.

  3. قَد هَزَّ مِن أَغصانِهِ ذَوابِلاً

    وَسَلَّ من غُدرانِهُ مَناصِلا

    It shook down showers from its branches

    And sent forth gentle rains.

  4. وَبَلَغَت ريحُ الصَّبا رَسائِلاً

    حينَ ثَنى العِطفَ الشتاءُ راحِلا

    The zephyr breeze carried missives

    When winter turned away defeated.

  5. وَنُصِبَت مَنابِرُ الأَشجارِ

    وَخَطَبَت سَواجِعُ الأَطيارِ

    The trees raised their pulpits

    And the birds preached eloquent sermons,

  6. وَاِستَفصَحَت عِبارَةً الهِزارِ

    فَهوَ لمَنشورِ الرَبيعِ قاري

    Clarifying with brilliant metaphors

    To the manifesto of spring they paid heed.

  7. وَأَقبَلَ النَيروز مِثلَ الوالي

    فَارتَجَعَ الفَضلَ مِنَ اللَيالي

    And New Year's came like a new governor

    Who restored what nights had diminished.

  8. وبشِّر الناقِصَ بِالكَمالِ

    فَعادَتِ الدُنيا إِلى اِعتِدالِ

    It gave good tidings to the deficient of perfection

    That the world had returned to balance.

  9. وَالدينُ وَالشَمسُ لِسَعدٍ مُؤتَنَف

    كُلٌّ بِهِ اللهُ اِنتَهى إِلى شَرَف

    Religion and sun shone for Sa'd with glory.

    Each raised by God to nobility,

  10. فَأَصبَحَ العَدلُ مُقيماً وَاِعتَكَف

    وَوَدَّعَ الجَورُ ذَميماً وَاِنصَرَف

    Bestowing security and peace.

    From that auspicious time began prosperity.

  11. بِالشَرَفَينِ اِستَسعَدَ الشَمسانِ

    شَمسُ الضُحى وَغُرَّةُ السُلطانِ

    Mankind and days again grew moderate,

    Muslim and nonbeliever both secure.

  12. في أَسعَدِ الأَيّامِ وَالأَزمانِ

    مُبَشِّراً بِالأَمنِ وَالأَمانِ

    Since they rose and shone for people

    No injustice or darkness did endure.

  13. فَاِعتَدَلَ الأَنامُ وَالأَيّامُ

    وَأَمِنَ المُسيمُ وَالمُسامُ

    The bow of Time let fly an arrow

    That struck and pierced the earth.

  14. مُذ طَلَعا وَنظَرَ الأَنامُ

    لَم يَبقَ لا ظُلمٌ وَلا ظَلامُ

    The shoulder bled from its point

    And terror was routed in the fight.

  15. قَد أَصبَحَت قَوسُ الزَمانِ سَهما

    وَقُد رَمى الأَرضَ بِهِ فَأَصمى

    Blossoms whitened before leaves turned green

    And branches grew youthful before the bloom.

  16. فَالكَتفُ مِنها بِالشَقيقِ تَدمى

    وَالرُعبُ أَضحى لِلشِتاءِ هَزما

    Pots blackened after baking bread

    And time itself regained its youth.

  17. اِبيَضَّ قَبلَ الإِخضِرارِ الفَنَنُ

    فَشابَ مِن قَبلِ الشَبابِ الغُصُنُ

    The promise made withdrawal needless,

    The clouds no longer held back rain.

  18. وَاِسوَدَّ مِن بَعدِ البَياضِ القُنَنُ

    فَشَبَّ مِن بَعدِ المَشيبِ الزَمَنُ

    From the orbits leaped forth the gazelles

    To meet the meadows with their train.

  19. قَد غَنِيَ الوَعدُ عَنِ التَقاضي

    وَأَعرَضَ الغيدُ عَنِ الإِعراضِ

    Joy and sadness both shared the garden,

    Breaking up the day with laughing and crying.

  20. وَخَرَجَت بِالحَدَقِ المِراضِ

    تُواجِهُ الرِياضَ بِالرِياضِ

    When the south wind blew it brought crying,

    But when it shifted northward, laughing.

  21. قَد سَئِمَت بُيوتَها النُفوسُ

    وَأَصبَحَت كَأَنَّها حُبوسُ

    The land took on the aspect of threat

    And pelted its invaders with hailstones.

  22. وَأَسلَمَ المُنَمِّسَ التَنميسُ

    وَصاحَ في جُنودِهِ إِبليسُ

    In fear the branch gestured apotropaically

    Like a finger making signs to ward off evil.

  23. أَبَحتُ لِلنسِ دَمَ الزِقاقِ

    في حَيثُ لاقوها مِنَ الآفاقِ

    Help your friend achieve his desire

    Without worrying people or secret trysts.

  24. وَجَرَّها كَجُثَثِ المُرّاقِ

    وَشُربَها بِكَأسِها الدِهاقِ

    Better none knows but the Forgiving Lord

    Who when you return repentant will forgive.

  25. إِلى الجِنانِ عَجَباً دَعاكُمُ

    مَن كانَ مِنها مُخرِجاً أَباكُمُ

    Though you repeat the sin your whole life

    If you ask God's pardon no sin is too great.

  26. يَجعَلُها كَفّارَة لِذاكُمُ

    فَأَصحِروا لِتُبصِروا مَأواكُمُ

    I see no law permitting wastefulness

    Or heedless destruction without good cause.

  27. فَالأَرضُ مِن كَفِّ الزَمانِ حاليه

    كَجَنَّةٍ لِلناظِرينَ عالِيَه

    I'm one who, whether you're shocked or not,

    Is eaten by cares unless he drinks wine.

  28. مِن كُلِّ ساقٍ عِندَ كُلِّ ساقِيَه

    يَجعَلُ مِن صافٍ مِزاجَ صافِيَه

    I who shed my own blood in camaraderie

    Cannot bear to see a friend distressed.

  29. وَالشَمسُ في البُرجِ الَّذي يَشوونَهُ

    إِذا غَدَوا شَرباً وَيَأكُلونَهُ

    So I revive my friend's drooping soul

    With the life blood coursing in my veins.

  30. وَفيهِمُ قَومٌ يُثاكِلونَهُ

    طولَ الزَمانِ وَيُناطِحونَهُ

    I said: My friend leave off excess generosity

    Do not exceed proper bounds of virtue.

  31. بِحَملٍ قَد باعَتِ الشَمسُ الأَسَد

    وَكانَ هَذا عِندَنا الرَأيَ الأَسَد

    I've no appetite for total intoxication

    Save what increases wisdom in people.

  32. فَاِعتاضَ طَبعاً في الزَمانِ وَاِستَجَد

    مِن غَضَبٍ بِشَهوَةٍ كُلُّ أَحَد

    My share of manners is fairest fortune.

    Eloquence and poetry are not within my grasp.

  33. حَتَى غَدا بَعضُ بَني الأَشكالِ

    يَقولُ قَولاً ظاهِرَ الإِشكالِ

    Nor does daughterly kindness lie in my gaze.

    God has not endowed me with her love.

  34. لَكِنَّهُ مِن كَثرَةِ البَلبالِ

    قَد قالَ ما قالَ وَلَم يُبالِ

    So I've become a comrade of my lord

    The most noble, the just, of perfect virtues,

  35. كَم أوكِفُ الظَهرَ بِطَيلَسانِ

    وَيُشبِهُ العِدلَينِ لي كُمّانِ

    The ascetic free of blemishes,

    Who makes hearts and souls flourish.

  36. مُستَبضِعاً عِندَ بَني الزَمانِ

    وِقرَ نِفاقٍ ثِقلُهُ أَعياني

    I toast his cup while he drinks,

    I speak praise while he is raptured,

  37. هَل لَكَ في حَمراءَ مِثلَ الحُصِّ

    يا قوتَةٍ قَد شُرِبَت بِرُخصِ

    I beg bounties while he freely grants,

    Gifts beyond all numbering tire me.

  38. مَجلوبَةٍ مِن مَعدِنٍ في القُفصِ

    تَلوحُ في الإِصبَعِ مِثلَ الفَصِّ

    The minister's habit and mine as well

    Is to drink of customary propriety,

  39. يَسعى بِها عَلَيهِ يا فِشِيُّ

    وَطَرفُهُ الساحِرُ بابِلِيُّ

    And to admire most the concord

    Between patron and companions.

  40. وَثَغرُهُ كَكَأسِهِ رَوِيُّ

    وَوَردُهُ كَخَدِّهِ جَنِيُّ

    Our pleasure is only the lawful,

    Not what fogs the mind.

  41. أَغيَدُ يَومُ وَصلِهِ تَأريخُ

    لِصُدغِهِ مِن نِقسِهِ تَضميخُ

    People's minds are nourished on it

    And the generous intoxicated by its cup.

  42. وَالجَمرُ في خَدَّيهِ لا يَبوحُ

    كَما يَحِلُّ العَقرَبُ المَرّيخُ

    The religion's face grew radiant

    And the state took on perfect order.

  43. يَضحَكُ مِن تَشبيبِ عاشِقيهِ

    عَن لُؤلُؤٍ لِنَظمِهِم شَبيهِ

    A Divine blessing dazzling to behold

    Too lofty for creation's thanks.

  44. فَلا يَزالُ مُظهِراً لِمَّتّيهِ

    بِدُرِّ فيهِ أَو بِدُرٍّ فيهِ

    A unique man in whom all praise combined,

    The peerless one for whom none qualified.

  45. لفُرَصِ اللذاتِ كُن مُنتَهِزاً

    وَلا تَبت مِن عاذِلٍ مُحتَرِزا

    However many excellent ones exist

    All excellence is focused in this one.

  46. فَالدهرُ مِخلافٌ فَخُذ ما أُنجِزا

    فَرُبَّما طَلَبتَهُ فَأَعوَزا

    Nobility itself, he only does good.

    Generous one who never acts mean.

  47. فَقَد تَغَنّى الطَيرُ في الشُروقِ

    وَالريحُ دارَت دَورَةَ الرَحيقِ

    Bestower of all that one could wish for,

    For him the cure of poverty is granting wealth.

  48. فَظَلَّ كُلُّ غُصُنٍ وَريقِ

    لِلسكرِ في رَقصٍ وَفي تَصفيقِ

    Seeing a supplicant in need

    You'd think it his money he expends.

  49. وَالزهرُ لِلروضَةِ عَينٌ تُلمَحُ

    يَضُمُّها طَوراً وَطَوراً يَفتَحُ

    What he takes from him he gives him

    In exchange for what he brings.

  50. تُمسى بِها قَريرَةً وَتُصِبحُ

    لَكِنَّها مِنَ الدُموعِ تَطفَحُ

    The beggar shares with him his wealth.

    A wonder to say of his sublime nature.

  51. وَالرَوضُ في شَمسِ سَناها يُعشى

    وَالسُحبُ بِالقُربِ لَها تَمَشِّ

    God aids his noble disposition

    In an age encompassing his ambition.

  52. فَكُلَّما أَدارَ عَينَ المَغشي

    عَلَيهِ جادَت وَجهَهُ بِرَشِّ

    Of generous spirit are his ways.

    Truly magnificent, thanks deserved.

  53. صَحوٌ وَغَيمٌ في الرِياضِ اِشتَرَكا

    يُقَطِّعانِ اليَومَ ضَحكاً وَبُكا

    Kindness flows in its course from him

    Worthy of praise for his moral fiber.

  54. إِذا الجَنوبُ أَقبَلَت فيهِ بَكى

    حَتّى إِذا عادَت شَمالا ضَحِكا

    Who hoards wealth cares only for riches

    And amasses glory for his heirs.

  55. صارَ الأَضا في حَلَقٍ وَخُوَذِ

    وَرَمتِ الأَرضُ لَها بِالفِلَذِ

    While his palm provides prolonged aid

    Outlasting him and his tombstone.

  56. فَالغُصنُ خَوفَ جُندِها المُستَحوِذِ

    كَإِصبَعٍ تُشيرُ بِالتَعَوُّذِ

    Say to the defender of the faith, so lofty:

    Truth is the finest jewelry for words.

  57. ساعِد عَلى الراحِ وَلا تُبالِ

    وَالناسَ لا تُخطِرُهُم بِبالِ

    Today you've tied firm the ropes of hope.

    You've proven, discerning man, to be the best of all.

  58. أَوِ اِستِراقاً في مَكانٍ خالِ

    لا تَعلَمُ اليَمينُ بِالشَمالِ

    O king whose mercy itself enacts kingship,

    Your footsteps eclipse even heavens' spheres,

  59. وَإِنَّما يَعلَمُهُ مَن يَغفِرُه

    إِذا رَجَعتَ نادِماً تَستَغفِرُه

    Not like stars' overlapping alignment

    But eclipsing highest celestial spheres.

  60. وَلَو بَقيتَ عُمُراً تُكَرِّرُه

    ما عِندَ عفوِ اللَهِ ذَنبٌ يُكبِرُه

    With your fierce sword you protected the corners

    Of your realm while Religion shook out its robes.

  61. لَستُ أَرى مُحَللاً في مَذهَبِ

    إِهلاكِيَ النَفسَ بِغَيرِ موجِبِ

    May your auspicious reign endure

    Vanquishing any who envy your throne.

  62. أَنا اِمرُؤٌ عَجِبتَ اَو لَم تَعجَبِ

    يَأكُلُني الهَمُّ إِذا لَم أَشرَبِ

    Your unrelenting sword brings victory.

    The Sultan of the World it's might established.

  63. ما كانَ مِن دُرّي وَمِن عَقيقي

    نَزَفتُهُ في فُرقَةِ الفَريقِ

    Though independent, within proper bounds

    routing an army by your name alone.

  64. فَمِن دَم الكَرمِ أُيعضس عُروقي

    تُحيِ بِهِ نَفسَ أَمرِئٍ صَديقِ

    You've a hand beside which all hands are small,

    Next to which even the sea seems scant.

  65. فَقُلتُ خَلِّ عَنكَ يا خَليلي

    تَجاوُزَ الفَضلِ إِلى الفُضولِ

    Not seven oceans compare to one of your hands

    Except as all the lands you've spanned.

  66. فَلَيسَ لي مَيلٌ إِلى الشَمولِ

    إِلّا الَّتي تَزيدُ في العُقولِ

    A spear whose point springs forth from its essence.

    A stallion fully in control of its arena.

  67. حَظّي مِنَ الآدابِ أَسنى حَظِّ

    وَالراحِ ما رَوَّقتُهُ مِن لَفظي

    Reining it in never diminishes its extent.

    Its reins are inherent to its being.

  68. وَما اِبنَةُ الكَرمِ بِمَرمى لَحظي

    وَلا لَها اللَهُ بِحُبّي مُحظِ

    Your horses carved trails in the rock,

    Their shoes leaving imprints like nails.

  69. لِذاكَ أَصبَحتُ مَنيعَ الجانِبِ

    نَديمَ مَولانا الأَجَلِّ الصاحِبِ

    Their brash galloping in the stone

    Chasing down wild asses without fail.

  70. العادِلِ الكامِلِ في المَناقِبِ

    وَالناسِكِ التارِكِ لِلمَثالِبِ

    Your dominion waxes across the nights,

    Vanquishing all who sought to prevail.

  71. أَسقى كُؤوسَ المَدحِ وَهوَ يَشرَبُ

    وَأُسمِعُ الثَناءَ وَهوَ يَطرَبُ

    Continuous, endless is your reign.

    As if your lifetime were eternity's chain.

  72. وَأَسَلُ الأَمساكَ وَهوَ يَهَبُ

    مَواهِباً تَعدادُها لي مُتعِبُ

    O heavens piercer, soaring in sublimity,

    Crescent banner lifted to zenith,

  73. دَأَبُ الوَزيرِ هَكَذا وَدابي

    الشُّربُ مِن سُلافَةِ الآدابِ

    None can penetrate your armies' defense

    So praise without hyperbole your poet.

  74. وَمُعجِبٌ نِهايَةَ الإِعجابِ

    تَناسُبُ المَصحوبِ وَالأَصحابِ

    Of your nobility, what minds have wrought

    Falls short of your true bracelet and crown.

  75. مُدامُنا الحَلالُ لا الحَرامُ

    ما خَلَّصَ اللِسانُ لا الفِدامُ

    So where, O Poetry, are your heroes?

    Speak now of what you will, let them declaim!

  76. تَغذو بِها عُقولَها الأَنامُ

    وَتَنتَشي بِكَأسِها الكِرامُ

    How I've withheld these pearls from threading

    Though they would make a brilliant train.

  77. قَد عادَ وَجهُ الدينِ وَهوَ أَزهَرُ

    وَعادَ لِلمُلكِ النِظامُ الأَكبَرُ

    Yet what I've said and what you've done

    Both embellish creation's array.

  78. نِعمَةُ رَبٍّ لِلعُقولِ تَبهَرُ

    تَجِلُّ عَن شُكرِ الوَرى وَتُشكَرُ

    To you, my lord, they are humble gifts

    That fail to match a rational mind.

  79. فَردٌّ وَفيهِ جُمعَ المَحامِدُ

    فَلَم يَجِد لَهُ نَظيراً واجِدُ

    So I present them imperfectly

    Lacking invention, but with sincerity.

  80. كَم في الوَرى مِن واحِدٍ تُشاهِدُ

    أَمّا الوَرى في واحِدٍ فَواحِدُ

    Far be it from my nature to pretend

    Passion in verse, especially so late in years.

  81. أَروعُ لا يُحينُ إِلّا يُحسِنا

    وَمُقدِمٌ يَجبُنُ عَن أَن يَجبُنا

    But authentic passion permits one to play

    There's no shame for an old cheek to feign a tear.

  82. وَمُنعِمٌ يُنيلُ غاياتِ المُنى

    فَقرُ الفَتى إِلَيهِ ميعادُ الغِنى

    No blame to a poet who feigns the ardor

    Of one who praises a king, it's understood.

  83. إِذا رَأى إِعدامَ مُعتَفيهِ

    حَسِبتَهُ لِلمالِ إِذ يُقنيهِ

    Wasn't Hassān beyond all reproach

    Though he said what makes others blush?

  84. مِن مُعتَفيهِ العُدمَ يَشتَريهِ

    يَأخُذُهُ مِنهُ بِما يُعطيهِ

    My lord, your honoring me was a gift

    That obligated all to follow course.

  85. سائِلُهُ شَريكُهُ في نَعمَتِه

    يَقولُ قاضي عَجَبٍ مِن شيمَتِه

    Whoever declines to do the same

    Has erred. A shadow reveals its source.

  86. أَعانَهُ اللَهُ عَلى مَكرُمَتِه

    بِزَمَنٍ يَسَعُ عُظمَ هِمَّتِه

    I came expectant on promised day

    But a scowling guard blocked my way.

  87. ذو كَرَمٍ أَخلاقُهُ حَديقَه

    حَقيقَةٌ بِالحَمدِ في الحَقيقَه

    How can one granted special access

    Be veiled by a heart's thin screen?

  88. يَجري مِنَ الجُودِ عَلى طَريقَه

    خَليقَةٍ بِمَدحِ ذي الخَليقَه

    Your brilliant state, in its towering ascent

    Is like the sun, or more inclusively

  89. مَن يَكنِزُ الأَموالَ في الرِقابِ

    وَيَذخَرُ الثَناءَ لِلأَعقابِ

    The sun indulges people through its rays

    While, by your nature, you've raised a screen.

  90. أَيادِياً مُعييَةَ الحُسّابِ

    تَبقى وَمُوليها عَلى الأَحقابِ

    O honor of Faith, you have guarded a name,

    Are summoned for aid and times of strife.

  91. قُل لِمُغيثِ الدينِ ذي المَعالي

    وَالصَدقُ أَبهى حَليَةِ المَقالِ

    May God perpetuate protection for you,

    Displaying constantly armor from Him.

  92. اليَومَ أَوثَقتَ عُرا الآمالِ

    أَجَدتَ يا مُنتَقِدَ الرِجالِ

    A towering palm tree, steadfast of trunk,

    A household of elevation, pillars intact.

  93. يا ملكاً مِن رَأفَةٍ يَحكي مَلَك

    بَل وَطأَةٌ مِنكَ عَلى ظَهرِ الفَلَك

    May they endure, their place ever exalted,

    Fortune's flood reinforced by their reign.

  94. ليس الثريا من نُجومٍ تَشتَبِك

    بل وطأَةٌ منك على ظَهر الفَلك

    Rejoice in Sa'd. Remain ever blessed.

    Let us rest in untroubled life.

  95. بَلَّت بِسَيفٍ صارِمٍ يَداكا

    ما لِمُلوكِ الأَرضِ مِثلُ ذاكا

    Upholding truth, straightening the crooked,

    opening by effort all knotted and contorted.

  96. وَهوَ أَدام اللَهُ ما آتاكا

    أَنفَسُ ما وَرِثتَهُ أَباكا

    God has promised and His word is bond

    You will not expire as long as time continues.

  97. اُنظُر إِلى الشاهِدِ مِن رُوائِهِ

    وَقِس بِهِ الغائِبَ مِن آرائِهِ

    Is it not in His Book? Let them search!

    What benefits endures, never vanishes.

  98. فَهوَ وَزيرٌ لَيسَ فَوقَ رائِهِ

    رَأى سِوى رَأيِكَ في اِرتِضائِهِ

    O you who rule enduring after those now gone

    With none to take your place or erase your trace.

  99. إِن سُمِّيَ اِثنانِ بَنوا شَروانِ

    وَوُصِفا بِالعَدلِ وَالإِحسانِ

    Remain Time's unveiled sword destroying and sustaining

    Annoyance and content with you and by you.

  100. فَاللَيلُ مازالَ لَهُ فَجرانِ

    وَإِنَّما الصادِقُ فيهِ الثاني

    A state whose shaded protection is sublime,

    Lasting endless, no limit to its time.

  101. أَعدَلُ مَولىً وَهوَ فيهِ نَعلَمُ

    لِمالِهِ دونَ العِبادِ يَظلِمُ

    As if your life were a poured ring

    Encircling perpetuity's revolving sphere.

  102. وَراحِمٌ إِذا اِستَقالَ المُجرِمُ

    لِنَفسِهِ مِن جودِهِ لا يَرحَمُ

  103. أَعيَت رُكامُ جودِهِ الغَماما

    وَفاقَ ما ضي رَأيِهِ الحُساما

  104. وَتابَعَ الصَنائِعَ الجِساما

    فَأَرضَيتِ الأُمَّةَ وَالإِماما

  105. لَهُ زَمانُ كُلُّهُ رَبيعُ

    وَهِمَّةٌ جَنابُها مُريعُ

  106. فَالناسُ في رِياضِها رُتوعُ

    وَالدَهرُ عَبدٌ سامِعٌ مُطيعُ

  107. تُمطِرُ شَمسُ وَجهِهِ وَتُشرِقُ

    وَلا يَغيمُ وَجهُهُ وَيَبرُقُ

  108. وَبَحرُ جَدواهُ الَّذي يُدَفَّقُ

    يَستَغرِقُ الوَصفَ وَلَيسَ يغرِقُ

  109. سَيفٌ بِهِ المُلكُ حَمى أَطرافَهُ

    وَالدينُ هَزَّ طَرَباً أَعطافَهُ

  110. تَهُزُّهُ اليَمينُ لِلخِلافَه

    حَتّى يُبيدَ مَن نَوى خِلافَهُ

  111. ماضٍ وَما تَنفَكُّ دِرعٌ غِمدَه

    لِلنَصرِ سُلطانُ الوَرى أَعَدَّه

  112. وَهوَغَنِيٌّ أَن يَشيمَ حَدَّهُ

    فَيَهزِمُ الجَيشَ لَهُ اِسمٌ وَحدَهُ

  113. لَهُ يَدٌ مِنها الأَيادي تَسجُمُ

    يَصغَرُ عَنها البَحرُ وَهيَ تَعظُمُ

  114. ما سَبعَةٌ مِن واحِدٍ تَنتَظِمُ

    إِلّا الأَقاليمُ لَهُ وَالقَلَمُ

  115. رُمحٌ غَدا مِن نَفسِهِ سِنانُهُ

    وَفَرَسٌ في طِرسِهِ مَيدانُهُ

  116. ما إِن يُرَدُّ عَن مَدىً عِنانُهُ

    فَإِنَّما عِنانُهُ بَنانُهُ

  117. لِخَيلِهِ في الصَخرِ نوناتٌ تُخَطُّ

    لَهُنَّ آثارُ المَساميرِ تُقَط

  118. وَالرُقشُ مِن أَقلامِهِ بِلا شَطَط

    تَقتَصُّ مِن هامِ العِدا بِما نُقَط

  119. عِزُّ عَلى مَرِّ اللَيلي زائِدُ

    يُربي عَلى البادِئِ مِنه العائِدُ

  120. مُتَّصِلٌ فَل يَرتَقِبهُ الحاسِدُ

    فَإِنَّما مَبدَأُ أَلفٍ واحِدُ

  121. مِن قَبلِ أَن مَلَكَهُ بِلادَهُ

    مَلَّكَهُ مَولى الوَرى فُؤادَهُ

  122. كَما كَساهُ قَلبُهُ سواده

    من فبل أن يكسٌوَه أبراده

  123. تشريفه أبطأُ من تأدبه

    وَإِن ضَجِرنا نَحنُ مِن تَرَقُّبِه

  124. مُخَبِّراً أَنَّ عَظيمَ مَنصِبِه

    يَجِلُّ عَنهُ فَوقَ ما يَجِلُّ بِه

  125. بَل لَم يَكُن مِن عَجَلِ المُشَرِّفِ

    إِلّا مِنَ الخَجلَةِ في تَوَقُّفِ

  126. كَيفَ يَكونُ عِندَ فَقدِ المُنصِفِ

    تَشريفُ مَولىً هُوَ نَفسُ الشَرَفِ

  127. لَو بَلَغَ التَشريفُ في التَضعيفِ

    مَعدودَ قَولِ قائِلٍ تَشريفي

  128. كُلٌّ على أَقصى الأَماني يوفي

    لَكانَ دونَ قَدرِهِ المُنيفِ

  129. كَفاهُ ما خالِقُهُ كَساهُ

    مِن ثوبِ مَجدٍ وَعُلاً كَفّاهُ

  130. لَو لَم يَكُن ضَمَّنَهُ رِضاهُ

    سُلطانُ أَرضِ اللَهِ شاهِنشاهُ

  131. يا فارِعَ السَماءِ بِالسُمُوِّ

    مُنعِلَ الهِلالِ في العُلُوِّ

  132. فَما مَحَلُّ مَفرِقِ العَدُوِّ

    أَمَنتَ مُداحَكَ مِن غُلُوِّ

  133. عَلَيكَ مِمّا صاغَتِ العُقولُ

    ما دونَهُ السِوارُ وَالإِكليلُ

  134. فَأَينَ يا شِعرُ لَكَ الفُحولُ

    هَذا أَوانُ القَولِ فَليَقولوا

  135. كَم أَحبِسُ العُقودَ في الحَقاقِ

    دونَ تَراقيها إِلى التَراقي

  136. ما قُلتُهُ وَما فَعَلتَ باقِ

    كِلاهُما قَلائِدُ الأَعناقِ

  137. دونَكَها خَوالِعاً لِلعُقلِ

    أَعَرتُها وَهُنَّ ذَوبُ العَقلِ

  138. تَهازُلاً مِنّي بِغَيرِ هَزلِ

    فَضلَ اِتِّباعٍ في مَجالِ فَضلي

  139. حاشَ لِطَبعي أَن يُسرى فيهِ طَبَع

    لا سِيَّما مِن بَعدِ شَيبٍ وَصَلَع

  140. لَكِنَّ ما يَأَتى بِهِ الجِدُّ لُمَع

    وَلَيسَ في خالٍ عَلى خَدٍّ بِدَع

  141. لا عَيبَ فيما قالَهُ مُشَبِّبُ

    تَشبيبُ مُدّاحِ المُلوكِ أَضرُبُ

  142. أَلَيسَ حَسّانُ وَلا يُؤَنَّب

    مِن قَولِهِ فَهوَ حَرامٌ طَيَّبُ

  143. مَولايَ إِكرامُكَ لي ابتِداءَ

    أَوجَبَ مِن كُلٍّ بِكَ اِقتِداءَ

  144. وَمَن أَبى ذاكَ فَقَد أَساءَ

    فَالظِلُّ يَحكي عودَهُ اِستِواءَ

  145. لِلمَوعِدِ المَضروبِ جِئتُ أَرقُبُ

    فَحالَ دوني حاجِبٌ مُقَطِّبُ

  146. وَمَن يَكُن مَكانُهُ المُقَرَّبُ

    خَلفَ حِجابِ القَلبِ كَيفَ يُحجَبُ

  147. دَولَتُكَ الغَرّاءُ في اِرتِفاعِهِما

    كَالشَمسِ أَو أَشمَلَ بِاِصطِناعِها

  148. وَالشَمسُ تُحظي الناسَ مِن شُعاعِها

    بِحاجِبٍ قَد صيغَ مِن طِباعِهِما

  149. يا شَرَفَ الدينِ كَرُمتَ سَمعاً

    وَلِلنَدى وَالبَأسِ دُمتَ تُدعى

  150. أَدامَ حِفظُ الله عنك الدفعا

    مُظاهِراً مِنهُ عَلَيكَ دِرعا

  151. مِن دَوحِ مَجدٍ باسِقٍ أَغصانُهُ

    بيتُ عُلا ثابِتَةٌ أَركانُهُ

  152. داموا وَدامَ عالِياً مَكانُهُ

    مُضاعِفاً إِقبالَهُم سُلطانُهُ

  153. نَورِز بِسَعدٍ دائِماً وَمَهرِجِ

    وَاِبقَ لَنا في ظِلِّ عَيشٍ سَجسَجِ

  154. مُقَوِّماً بِالرَأيِ كُلَّ أَعوَجِ

    وَفاتِحاً بِالجَدِّ كُلَّ مُرتَجِ

  155. قَد ضَمِنَ اللَهُ وَلَيسَ يَنكُثُ

    أَنَّكَ ما اِمتَدَّ الزَمانُ تَلبَثُ

  156. أَلَيسَ في كِتابِهِ فَليَبحَثوا

    أَنَّ الَّذي ينَفعُ فَهوَ يَمكُثُ

  157. يا مَن يَظَلُّ خَلفاً عَمَّن مَضى

    وَلَيسَ عَنهُ خَلَفٌ فَلا اِنقَضى

  158. دُمتَ عَلى الأَيّامِ سَيفاً مُنتَضى

    يُفني وَيُغني السُخطُ مِنكَ وَالرِضا

  159. ذا دَولَةٍ عَلى الوَلِيِّ تُسبَغُ

    ظِلالُها وَلِلعَدُوِّ تَدمَغُ

  160. دائِمَةٍ آخِرُها لا يُبلَغُ

    كَأَنَّما عُمرُكَ طَوقٌ مُفَرَغُ
