بُشراي طالع جلَّقٍ مَسعودُ

إِذ حَلَّ فيها الماجد المَقصودُ

My auspicious star ascended fortunate

When the glorious intended settled therein

مِن نَفسِهِ أَغنى النُفوس وَكَفَهُ

بَحر يَفيض وَفِعلَهُ مَحمودُ

From his essence the richest of souls, his bounty suffices

An overflowing sea, his deeds praiseworthy

عَلّامة الدُنيا وَمِن أَخلاقِهِ

قَطَع الرِياض وَظِلَهُ مَمدودُ

Beacon of the world, and of his traits

Crossing the gardens his shade outstretched

وَإِذا تَداوَلَت الشِفاه ثَناءَهُ

عَبق الزَمان فَعَنبَر أَو عود

And when mouths pass on praising him

The age's incense, ambergris or aloes wood
