1. أَربوتنا حيتك عَنا السَحائبُ

    فَأَنتَ لِوَجه الأَرض عَينٌ وَحاجِبُ

    Arbūtnā, the clouds have greeted you on our behalf;

    For you are the eye and brow upon the earth’s face.

  2. فَاسودك الغَريد بِالدَف مولَع

    تَبَدَت لَنا بِالجَنك مِنهُ عَجائب

    Your dark-skinned songster, enamored of the tambourine,

    Revealed to us marvels upon the harp.

  3. نَزَلنا بِظل السَفح مِنكَ فَكُلنا

    مصيب لِأَنواع المَسَرة صائِب

    We alighted in the shade along your slope, and every one of us

    Attained every kind of delight, unerringly.

  4. وَبِتنا وافياء الغُصون سَماؤُنا

    فَنَحنُ بِدور وَالنَدامى كَواكِبُ

    We passed the night with the shadows of branches for our sky;

    Thus we were full moons, and our fellow revelers stars.
