إِن أَشهَروا السَيفَ وَإِن أَغمَدوا

عَنهُ لَدى الهَيجاءِ لا يَعدِلُ

Though they bare the sword or sheathe it still,

Before the passionate none can vie with you-

مَنصبك الفَضل وَأَنتَ الَّذي

مِن ذاكَ في الدارين لا يَعزلُ

Your merit so distinguishes you that,

In either world none can depose of you.
