وَبي رَشأ غَريب الزي

يِ في خُلق وَفي خلقِ

A stranger of rare breed grew I, in character and in form,

Let there be whatever rose you wish,

وَلي ما شئت مِن وَرد

بِرَوضة خَدِهِ عَبَق

In the garden of his cheek, fragranced,

His cheek appeared like a crescent, upon it the green horizon,

وَصَدغ كَالهِلال بَدت

عَلَيهِ خُضرة الأُفق

His brilliance made radiant those nearby,

His beauty left those who saw him swooning,

وَمشن صَهباهُ مُصطَبِحي

وَمِن لَمياهُ مُغتَبِقي

For his narcissus gardens emptied of their narcissi,

When gazed upon his narcissistic eyes.

بِنَرجسه الحَدائق مِنهُ

نَفدي نَرجس الحدق
