وَرضة أُنس باتَ فيها اِبن أَيكة
يُغرد وَالناي الرَخيم يَشنف
A garden of delight where the son of Aykah dwelled,
The flute sings sweetly and gently sighs,
وَقَد ضمنا فيها مِن اللَيل سابِغاً
رِداءَ بِأَكناف السَحاب مسجف
We spent there a long night,
Cloaked in clouds’ billowing robes,
وَظَلت عَرانين الأَباريق بِالطلا
إِلى أَن بَدَت كافورة الصُبح ترعف
Pitchers brimmed with dew until
Dawn’s camphor began to shimmer and shake.
