وَمُقرطق يَغني النَديم بِوَجهِهِ

عَن كاسِهِ المملي وَعَن إِبريقِهِ

The singer sings with his face

Of his overflowing cup and his pitcher

فَعل المُدام وَلَونَها وَمَذاقَها

مِن مُقلَتيهِ وَوَجنَتيهِ وَريقِهِ

The color, taste and effect of the wine

Comes from his eyes, cheeks, and saliva
