1. وَفي الجيرَةِ الغادِينَ مِن بَطنِ وَجرَةٍ

    غَزالٌ أَحَمُّ المُقلَتَينِ رَبيبُ

    In the neighborhood dwells a gazelle, tender of glance,

    So think not the stranger who is far, estranged,

  2. فَلا تَحسَبي أَنَّ الغَريبَ الَّذي نأَى

    وَلَكِنَّ مَن تَنأَينَ عَنهُ غَريبُ

    But rather the one from whom you are estranged, though near, a stranger.
