رَصَداً فَمَزَّقَ عَنهُما ما مَزَّقا
They sent ahead a watchman for their necks’ protection
To keep guard, but he tore them from each other anyway
باتا بِأَنعَمِ لَيلَةٍ وَأَلَذِّها
حَتّى إِذا وَضَحَ الصَباحُ تَفَرَّقا
They spent the night’s most blissful, sweetest hours
Until dawn’s light broke clearly and they went their separate ways
