Those are the sand dunes, guarded by Ghayran
Below them are oryx and wild cows grazing
They passed by the right sand hill so a lion blocked their way
Gazelles try to avoid its glances, fawns
A doe wanders from the valley of Ughaylimah
Lightning struck them with the roar of thunder
Eyes glance at them quickly in surprise
Among the watchtowers and the horsemen
They took shelter behind sand dunes
Where the lost camel rubs its muzzle
The army stands ready to fight with its regiments
With its divisions distinguished on the desolate hills
In the sand dunes, every singing girl
Quenches her thirst while her waist yearns
The memories make me tremble with joy
Like the breeze shaking the branches of a Nashwan tree
How often have I visited it with the sword of my determination
While the star in the western horizon wanders
The Bedouins have tents around the sanctuary
I visited them while passionate and gray-haired
A Qurashi man spotted them in his sight
Wandering, shaking his shoulders, a Adnani
I fell in love with her while she was scared
Like a snake creeping in the sand
Fear left her as she felt comfortable with him
The slit of his sirbal is clearer than Shayhan
He drew his sword from its sheath to embrace her
As branches entwine with other branches
The stars tell the story of the Romans' eyes
Like eyelids for the blacks, blue
O sister of the man who carries the spears, followed
To his battles by eagles and hawks
You ignored my anger and tempted my imagination about us
So I cannot find it unless it is angry
It comes to me but I cannot enjoy its visit
As your eyes have not lost sleep, awake
It is only a phantom that heals by seeing it
The one who is lovesick and toothless on purpose
O may God bring misery to a people whose neighbor
Is wretched, where shame dwelled, and Hamdan
Scattered at the back of the enclosures, they have
In every spot misfortune and homelessness
Their neighbor is not safe from them in peace
Nor do their equals fear them in war
I left them and whenever they look at me
There is a look full of grudges and hatred
Inside me there is a heart that adversities cannot shake
In fighting off days of misery and sadness
I face troubles and I have a soul that escorts me
In my anger, panicking whenever neighbors come
Every day I intend tears that eyes shed
Until the disappearing stars that Kairan hides
So the west is the abode of my tribe who are
My clan while we have brothers in the east
I smell the wind coming from their homes
Weakly as if the breeze smells like sweet basil
O may God water the plateau of Iraq, so its life
Can drink from its rains, wetting Qura and Ghitan
Thundering Muzn, when lightning shakes its pillars
The thunder in its two valleys rises high
It throws its flames while heavy rain pours down
Until fires and waters meet in it
I have known through it a people I befriended
As souls and bodies intermingled
