My liver melts and tears pour down
So when will my tormentor feel shame?
What does the blamer intend with his blame?
How twisted becomes his loose tongue!
As for pacifying him, that is difficult
But my tears are submissive
And my affection is fresh as if
Swaying, ripe fruit hangs from it
Like musk in its hue and in its scent
From which pure amber is extracted
So the morning of white hair dawned
When the mouth of youth told the tale of its night
Oh you who blame me, my essence withered
In passion for it while the heart crumpled
The gazelles desire dark kohl around their eyes
And the young one finds fault in all things tinted
It is molded from the love of hearts
As their blackness poured upon it
