For my people, how much dew in the meadows,

And how many banners for them flutter in the wind,

With swords unsheathed while the horses frown,

Their white robes stained with blood.

He never rested his head on his arm’s strength

Except to see the stars beneath his feet.

If in the night his anger flared,

It showed you the dawn in the darkness of night.

From which of his lands have you come in pairs

To incline to you his noble nature?
