O lady of the veil, how heavy
is the veil that covers you.
Your eyes have shot arrows at me
that no armor can defend against.
Away with separation that parts us;
never shall it make me less ardent.
What eyes reveal or hearts conceal
I see in you, whom I so fervently seek.
Why then this hardness of your heart
when words and tears both plead?
