1. أبشِر بعز مؤذن بدوام

    وصعادة تبقى على الأيامِ

    Rejoice in the everlasting glory of the herald

    And ascendancy that remains through the days

  2. لا زلت من صرف الحمام مسلما

    ما غردت في الأيك ورق حمامِ

    I still release the pigeons as a Muslim

    Never cooing in the nests like pigeon chicks

  3. يا عصمة اللاجي لك النفس التي

    أفعالها تزري بنفس عصامِ

    O protector of the refugees, to you belongs the soul

    Whose deeds adorn the soul of steadfastness

  4. يا خير من تحمي عليه مفاضة

    حصداء محكمة غداة يحامي

    O best of those who protect the abundant

    Harvest that ripens after early drought

  5. ما أنت إلا طود حلم شامخ

    نأوي إليه وبحر علم طامي

    You are but a towering mountain of forbearance

    To which we repair, an immense sea of knowledge

  6. أبشر فجد عداك يا مولى الندى

    بالذل مخفوض وجدك سامي

    Rejoice, your grace outshines all others

    With humiliation low and your glory high

  7. يا قائد الخيل العتاق لواحقا

    تجري باسد كالسهام سهامِ

    O leader of the noble steeds in battle

    That race like arrows swiftly loosed from bows

  8. كم فل باسك يوم حرب جحفلا

    لجبا وبل نداك غلة ظامي

    How often has your valor in the fray laid low

    The hills and filled the valleys on the day war was joined

  9. أعتقت من قصد اللئام قصائدي

    وكفيتني بالبر والأنعامِ

    I have emancipated my poems from the aim of the vile

    And you have spared me in your kindness and bounty

  10. ونقعت منك بماء بشرك أنه

    مما يبشر بالنجاح أوامي

    And I have drunk from your good tidings the water

    That portends success through all my years

  11. فلأشكرنك في المحافل دائما

    شكر الرياض لصوب كل غامِ

    So I will thank you always in assemblies

    Giving thanks as the meadows do for every cloud

  12. نفسي غذاؤك من وزير عادل

    في حكمه لثرائه ظلام

    My soul is nourished, under the rule of a just vizier

    Whose wisdom in his governance is obscurity

  13. ترضى الغداة عداته وعفاته

    منه بأي مطاعن مطعام

    Whose probity and integrity in the morning

    Rebut any vile accusations made against him

  14. قوام ليلة كل صر قرة

    ولطول كل ظهيرة صوامِ

    Supporter through every misfortune-filled night

    And comforter through every lengthy day of fasting

  15. عضد الهدى والدين يا من رأيه

    في الخطب أمضى من غرار حسامِ

    Supporter of guidance and religion, O you whose opinion

    In discourse is sharper than well-honed swords

  16. لك صروة الشمس المنيرة جالسا

    وإذا ركبت فسورة الضرغام

    To you belongs the radiant sun whilst seated

    And when mounted, Sirius in the late summer

  17. هامي عزالي الجود أنت مسالما

    ومحاربا ما زلت ضارب هامِ

    I come to you for generosity, benevolently disposed

    And warring you remain, striking with blows

  18. فبقيت أعلى الناس هامة همة

    وسلمت ملك أغر همامِ

    Thus you have remained supreme in high resolve

    And attained the crown of glorious ambition

  19. نلقاك فذا لا نرى لك توأما

    في سؤدد يا كافل الأيتامِ

    We meet with you peerless in generosity

    O guardian of orphans in time of misery

  20. في دولة ما تنقضي أيامها

    أبدا وعز ثابت الأقدامِ

    In an empire whose days will never end

    With glory established forever firm
