1. أرضابُه مسكٌ وراح

    أم وجهه ليلا صباح

    His land is musk and scent

    His face, night and dawn

  2. وقوامه أم بانَة

    ولعبت بعطفيها الرياحُ

    His figure, perfect

    The winds playing at his sleeves

  3. رشأ لصارم لحظه

    في كل جارحة جراحُ

    A glance that pierces

    In every limb, a wound

  4. وَسنان أمرضَت الحِشا

    أَجفانه المرضى الصحاحُ

    Teeth that weakened the beasts

    Lids, the refuge of the bright and pure

  5. مازحته فومقته

    والحب أوله مزاحُ

    I jested with him, so he frowned

    Love is but jest at first

  6. ولرب أسمر مخطَفٍ

    رقباؤه السمر الرماحُ

    Many a dark-skinned captor

    At his neck the bright spears

  7. ما للضنى من خصره

    أبدا ولا جسمي براحُ

    Waist has no effect on his jealousy

    Nor does my body find peace

  8. يا من له عندي حمى

    لا والهوى ما يستباحُ

    O you, for whom I have passion

    By God, passion cannot be violated

  9. بي غلة ما تنطفي

    بِسوى رضابك والتياحُ

    I have a love that does not fade

    Except by your consent and joy

  10. رفقا بصب ما له

    عن ربع صبوته انتزاحُ

    Be gentle with a love-struck one

    Who cannot bear a quarter of your coyness

  11. قلق كأن فؤاده

    لك يا معذبه وشاحُ

    Restless, as if his heart

    Is yours, o tormentor and comrade

  12. هيهات يخفى شأنه

    وله من الشانِ افتضاحُ

    Impossible to hide his stature

    His prestige exposed

  13. بأبي ملاحتك التي

    من بعضِها خُلِق السِلاحُ

    By my father, your glances

    From which weapons were created

  14. جمعا كما من بعض سي

    ب محمدٍ خلِق السماحُ

    Together, as from the letters SIN and MIM

    Was created the name of Muhammad, master of charity

  15. الملك عضد الدين أك

    رم من له وفر مباحُ

    The protected King Adhud Al-Deen

    Most generous to those who enjoy his gifts

  16. ملك إلى أبوابه

    تنضي المخيّةُ الطلاحُ

    A king whose gates

    The brave and valiant frequent

  17. المستباح حِمَى الموا

    هب والاغر المستصاحُ

    Sanctuary of gifts and the courageous helper

    A shelter for those who seek refuge

  18. جذلان من خمر الثنا

    ء له اغتباق واصطباحُ

    Flowing wine freely poured

    Quaffed with delight

  19. غيث لديمته انصباب

    وانسكاب وانسحاحُ

    A rain for his land, pouring down

    Flooding and overflowing

  20. لولاه لم يك مع مضي

    ق الرزق للأمل انفساحُ

    Were it not for him, sustenance

    Would not have opened for hope

  21. ليث إذا دعيت نزا

    ل وجد بالقوم الكفاحُ

    A lion, when called descends

    And the people find the struggle

  22. يعنو لسواد صحائف

    في كفه البيض الصفاحُ

    He cares for the black script

    In his hand the white scripture

  23. وكأنما عزماته

    لمضائها القدر المتاحُ

    As if his resolve

    Were the perfect fate

  24. بيديك يا ابن أبي الفتو

    ح لمغلق الجود افتتاحُ

    In your hands, o son of Abu Al-Futuh

    Is the opening of the closed generosity

  25. بالعفو والإسجاح قد

    عرفت خلائقك السجاحُ

    You are known for pardon and humility

    As well as valor

  26. أنت الذي حركاته

    للدين والدنيا صلاح

    You who by his actions

    Brings righteousness to religion and life

  27. أنت الذي ما زنده

    إن أصلدَت أيدٍ واطِّراحُ

    You who, if destiny's hands would try

    To tear him down, stands tall

  28. أنت الذي ما عنده

    للوفد منع واطِّراحُ

    You who does not refuse

    Visitors, but welcomes them

  29. بل عنده لعداته

    والمال قمع واجتياحُ

    But has for his enemies

    Subjugation and conquest

  30. ما لي على الأيام ال

    لا أن تدوم كذا اقتراحُ

    I have no wish for days

    Except to last like this forever

  31. أسعد بعيدك وابق لي

    ما غرد العُجمُ الفِصاحُ

    Happy am I with your presence, remain

    As long as songbirds sing
