أبا المعالي لا زلت في نعم

عليك طول الزمان ممتدَّه

O virtuous one, I remain in grace

Upon you all time extended

نفسي بعد الإله في مرضي

منك بحسن التدبير مشتدَّه

My soul after God in my pleasure

From you in good governance strengthened

وإن توانيت بي غدوت غدا

من بعض قتلى القتيل قر عنده

And if you wavered from me I became tomorrow

Among some of the slain resting with him
