والزهر سبط والريا
ض أريضة والماء جعدُ
With violets too, our hands could meet
To pick them while their fragrance is sweet
والطل منثور وفي
جيد الشقائق منه عقدُ
The breeze is scented, mist is light
The branches dance at the sight
ومع البنفسج من خدو
د سقاتنا أس ووردُ
The sun hides behind clouds now and then
The weather is blue, then grey again
حيث النسيم معنبر
وضباب ذاك الأفق ندُّ
To spend each dawn, each dusk this way
Going, returning, night and day
والغصن يرقص والغدي
ر مصفق والورق تشدو
Only a lifelong friend would bear
Always waiting, full of care
والشمس تخفي في نقا
ب الغيم أحيانا وتبدو
A king whose glory fills the sky
Whose might makes stars and fate comply
والجو بعض منه كما
فور وبعض لازوردُ
With endless bounty he provides
His being has no bounds beside
فالخلد من يمسي أخا
راح يروح لها ويغدو
Protector of the truth is he
Lofty summit of nobility
والحر من هو دهره
للصاحب المأمول عبدُ
A lion in wars when must be fought
With claws like swords that strike with thought
ملك طويل الباع سا
عد مجدد سعد رجدُ
To his mind no equal can pretend
While to his foes he will not bend
أعوانه الأفلاك حي
ن يصول والأقدار جند
His justice makes the water clear
His wisdom has no hint of fear
من رفده ما لا يعدّ
وجوده ما لا يحدّ
To aid those in need each day he vies
With fresh generosity that never dries
حامي الحقيقة باسل
سامي العلى يقظان نجدُ
He gives openly, hides nor restrains
Promises he keeps, neglects no claims
أسد إذا ورد الحرو
ب غضنفر طيانِ ورد
The caliphate he grew and tended
With counsel and affection splendid
ما للحصام بكفه
في الروع إلا الهام غمدُ
O lion, helper of its might
O arm, sustaining its great weight
إن كان غورا بالتوا
ضع فهو بالعلياء نجدُ
What kingdom could remain upright
What border safe without your might?
ماء لمن صافاه وه
و صفًى على الأعداء صلدُ
People's love for him is line wine
They swarm him like bees round honey's shrine
في كل يوم للعفا
ة لديه جود مستجدُ
O you whose army none can best
Nor defeat when you put it to test
يكبو زناد مبخل
أبدا ويورى منه زندُ
Your politics and clever wit
Are the secret of the throne's benefit
فالوعد نقد والوعي
د نسيئة والعهد عقدُ
If you equal one man in repute
A hundred you surpass in astute
غرس الخلافة والذي
أثماره نصح وودُّ
You lasted while spring winds died down
And summer cooled from being too warm
ها أنت نائبها الأسد
نعم وساعدها الأشدُّ
You are the lion's claw, his aid
Yes, and his arm, strong and steeled
فلاى ملك ما تسو
د وأي ثغر ما تسدُّ
So which king can your work ignore?
What weakness leave uninsured?
يا من خلائقه الشوا
هد أنها خمر وشهدُ
O you whose nature is elation
Like wine that gladdens a nation
يا من يرد الجيش جا
ش وما له عاف يردُّ
O you who route an army alone
While safety you always postpone
منك السياسة والحرا
سة للمالك تستمدُّ
From you the throne seeks its course
You are its resource and main force
إن كنت في كسب المحا
مد واحدا فنداك سردُ
If you gained one lofty acclaim
