أَنا السّمع الأَزَلُّ فلا أُبالي

ولو صَعُبَت شَناخيبُ العِقابِ

I am eternal hearing, so I do not care

Even if the talons of punishment grow difficult

وَلا ظَمَأٌ يُؤخِّرُني وحَرٌّ

ولا خَمصٌ يُقَصِّرُ من طِلابِ

Neither thirst that delays me, nor heat

Nor fatigue that shortens my seeking
