Do not go too far wherever you went, my love
For many a valley has lost its doves
And many a cloak has had its patches torn
And many a horn has had its bones broken
And many a living being has lost its breath
And over many a valley its flags have crossed
And many a pool of water has had its bubbles burst
And many a month has seen its days pass
And many a barren land has had its hills surmounted
And many a hidden one has lost its turban
And the belt of its running has been cut
So it ran like a zebra and an ostrich
And over many a rugged terrain it quenched its thirst
Oh how many a chasm have I come from its abyss
And the mountains of Nejd where I did not lose my way
