كَيفَ الوصولُ إِلى سُعادٍ وَدونَها
قُلَلُ الجِبالِ وَدونَهُنَّ حُتوفُ
How to reach a happiness beyond
The mountains' peaks, beyond their slopes -
وَالرَجلُ حافِيَةٌ وَلا لي مَركَبٌ
وَالكَفُّ صِفرٌ وَالطَريقُ مَخوفُ
When I've no shoes upon my feet
No steed to ride, and dread the road ahead.
