I asked you shyly and perplexed

Did you give your face or shed my blood?

I have no excuse if I did not ask you,

As one finding water resorts to Tayammum.

Man’s nobility lies only in his deeds.

All men of generosity are generous.

Whoever is not expected to do great things,

Though he be the best of mankind, is not honored.
