Oh my bliss, why have you concealed yourself from my sight?

There was no fear for you from my gaze,

Was there any harm for you in a glance in which I live?

Oh torment of my heart, what injury is there for you from me?

Delight of my eye, when will you excuse

My heart from you, for it is in great caution.

It is not he who makes the veils, but how many

Moons are concealed beneath the veil.

Oh beautiful days of ours that have passed,

Nothing was sweeter than the love of childhood.
