My eyes shed generous tears for you both
Be generous and do not fail your promised day
Do you know for whom you both shed those tears?
For the son of my mother I spent the soaked night awake
The earth spun around with us, or almost did
Oh how anxious I am for I have met adversity
Oh eye, so cry for a pure man whose ways
Are difficult to monitor, easy when guided
He takes no pleasure in harming his people in anger
Nor would you see him when appointed as judge
He doesn’t accuse his cousin’s son in insult
Nor sneak to the neighbors with gossip
It is as if The Merciful created his image
As a golden dinar that people see minted
Go O noble one, may God grant you His Paradise
And we are parted while you are immortalized
You lived among us without shameful acts
Until the Lord of mankind took you praisingly
