O my eyes, shed tears generously,

    And sobbing laments after stumbling,

Do not grow weary of shedding freely, unfailing,

A downpour like the twilight with long shadows.

And cry for a rock enduring through the ages, wail

Until you adorn a tomb between mountains.

Oh how my soul yearns for a rock, and yearned

My soul when heroes gathered with heroes.

And cry for him the nightly visitor, achieving

    True generosity and giving wealth.

And cry for him, for the horses beneath the saddle blankets morose,

As if their shoulders were draped with chainmail.

Warding them off from the death struggle, repelling

Like a lion guarding a den beyond the cubs.

God watered a tomb most glorious,

And its soul with copious destined rains.
