How sorrows and sleeplessness have laid me low,
My eyes shedding tears like glistening pearls.
They weep for a rock worn away by time,
When the tide of days and fate swept it away.
He is magnanimous, generous are his gifts,
Faithful protector if comrades betray.
Refuge of the destitute, every widow's shelter
In his care when misfortunes descend.
Never has he rode forth on day of battle,
Except for him the glorious victory won.
